An Open Letter to Gender Fluid and Pansexual Self

My Dearest,

You can stop trying too hard to conform to the expectations of the world. No matter what you do, there will always be something you are not doing right. Please stop this pointless, unnecessary suffering you have undertaken by presenting yourself as this conventional woman with heterosexual aspirations. Why strive to be ordinary when you can be extraordinary! Why stifle your true and authentic self for mediocrity!

If you know in your heart that you are meant to be free to express a myriad of gender expressions and love without the weighted expectations of gender for others, why don’t you allow yourself to simply be?

Be your authentic self. Love and cherish others in ways only you can do. If gender is an outdated concept which has no bearing on you, live like that. Live courageously.

Your life is yours entirely. Don’t lose yourself to social constructs and expectations.
Love is political. Living your authentic life is a political act.
