Hello, I am Arnold Fernandes. My pronouns are he/him. I live and work in Mumbai. I am a physiotherapist currently working as a public and queer health researcher. My work majorly focuses on mental health, aging in the queer community, non-communicable diseases, social support, loneliness and isolation.

 Our experiences, how we react to situations and how it impacts us, is not solely under our control. We all are products of our intersectional vulnerabilities and privileges.  

As a peer supporter, I will always honor my commitment of time and respect to the support seeker. I will respect the journey of the support seeker and try my best to not look at it through the lens of personal bias. I will always keep in mind that the support seeker is the expert of their lives, and I as a peer supporter is there to support them emotionally and help them identify that they hold power in the situation.  

Before we start our conversation, I want you to know that you are sharing your experience in a private, safe, confidential and non judgmental space. You matter, your experiences matter and your feelings matter.  

I enjoy indulging in skin care, makeup and like to visit local exhibitions, art galleries and museums. I find cooking and cleaning very refreshing and enjoy connecting with people.
