Dr. Purushothaman (she/her) has a multidisciplinary educational background and diverse professional experience of working with academic, corporate and development sectors for over 25 years. A trained queer affirmative counselor, she is presently a Member, Juvenile Justice Board, Bangalore (Urban) and teaches Social and Community Psychology for the M.Sc. Counselling and MSc. Psychology students at the Indian Institute of Psychology and Research, (IIPR), Bangalore. She is a passionate grassroot practitioner, a vocal child rights activist, an enthusiastic academic, tirelessly working on creating social impact through education, compassion and engagement with youth in the juvenile justice system and other marginalized groups
