Prabhjyot (she/her) has been working in the capacity of a Counselling Psychologist since July 2018 and since then has done therapeutic work with a variety of populations ranging from children and women at a shelter home to the prisoner population in a number of prisons in North India. She did her masters in Psychoanalytic Studies from the UK and thus her practice is psychodynamically oriented but eclectically informed. She identifies as queer and started working with the LGBTQIA+ population about a year and a half ago and has continued since. She collaborated with The Humsafar Trust to provide counselling services to the queer community in addition to working with primarily queer clientele at Karma Center for Counselling and Wellbeing. She has been been interested in minority mental health and is currently pursuing her Post Graduate Diploma in Trauma Focused Therapy from Tata Institute of Social Sciences along with practicing independently. She is equipped to work with adolescents and adults dealing with mental health problems ranging from trauma, depression, anxiety, self harm, domestic violence, sexual assault and so on and so forth.
