Hello! I’m Satty (he/him), a trans masculine filmmaker and community worker based in Kolkata.
I’ve spent the past few years working with queer and trans communities, supporting people around livelihood and community care. These experiences have shown me how meaningful it is to have spaces where people feel heard, respected, and accepted just as they are.
Much of my journey has been shaped by navigating life as a trans masculine person and by being part of the queer and trans community. Like many of us, I’ve experienced moments of uncertainty, loneliness, and the search for spaces where I could simply exist without having to explain myself.
I’ve also learned that healing often happens through relationships, shared experiences, and knowing that someone is willing to sit with you without judgment.
A big part of my life is caring for rescued dogs and cats. Looking after them has taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of showing up consistently, even in small ways.
Caring for rescued animals has also shaped the way I understand support. It has taught me that care isn’t about fixing someone, rather it’s about being present, patient, and meeting them where they are.
These experiences are what brought me to peer support. I wanted to become someone who could offer the kind of compassionate space that has made a difference in my own life.
To me, peer support is about reminding someone that they don’t have to carry everything alone. There is something deeply comforting about talking to someone who understands that life can be complicated.
I believe shared experiences can create connection, but empathy, curiosity, and respect are just as important. My hope is that after talking with me, you feel heard, a little less alone, and more connected to your own strengths, whatever you’re going through.
Whether you want to untangle your thoughts, process a difficult experience, or simply have someone sit with you for a while, I’ll do my best to meet you with care and understanding.
One thing I’d like you to know before we talk is that you’re welcome to bring your thoughts, your questions, your silence, and/or your uncertainty, we’ll start wherever feels right for you.
As a filmmaker, I enjoy telling stories rooted in dignity, resilience, and lived experiences.
