Description
Sindhuran (she/her) has been working in the areas of child, adolescent and youth mental health through counselling, research, supervision, capacity building and academic teaching for 10 years. She is trained in a trauma informed approach (EMDR) as well as in queer affirmative counselling practice. She has also been involved in creating content such as best practice guidelines, manuals and protocols for strengthening mental health programmes across the country as well as conducting capacity building trainings with multiple Government, Non-Government, corporate partners and humanitarian agencies, including agencies like UNFPA, UNICEF & WHO.
She works largely with young adults in her private practice, addressing issues such as relationships, sexuality, family conflicts, self esteem and body image, career related concerns, stigma and discrimination, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self harm. Informed by an intersectional lens and feminist principles, she uses strengths-based and insight-oriented approaches in her work, drawing from Narrative Therapy, SFBT, Internal Family Systems etc.
