Tanya Mangwani
Description
I take a strengths-based and client-centred approach to therapy and focus on creating a safe space for my clients to open up in session. I believe that building a strong client-therapist relationship is vital in order for therapy to be successful. I also use cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions along with visual art, drama and play therapy techniques to help clients reach their goals. I have experience providing individual, family and group counselling to children, adolescents and young adults dealing with a wide range of mental health issues such as trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, self-harm, interpersonal difficulties, body image issues and bullying. I have also worked as a counsellor in a school setting providing support to children and adolescents with special needs as well as academic, social and emotional difficulties.
