An Open Letter – Be brave yourself
Safe Access
Hi Younger Me,
Don’t worry about your future. You are not dumb, and you’re not hiding anything from anybody. You are doing just fine — actually, you’re doing great. So keep going, keep showing up, and keep being you.
Remember to identify your strengths — they’re there, even when you can’t see them clearly — and don’t hesitate to open up. It’s okay to feel vulnerable. Let people in.
In the future, your best friends will stand by you for exactly who you are. You won’t have to wear a mask. So please, don’t let yourself get hurt silently or bury your worries alone — speak up, lean on people, trust love.
You’ll grow into one of the brightest students in your department, and even better, you’ll find a supportive, accepting space — including a friendly LGBTQ+ community — in your workplace. You’ll see that the world can be kind when you allow yourself to be seen.
Stay brave. Stay soft. Stay open to society — it will be worth it.
Love yourself,
Saro
