An Open Letter To Dearest Chotu Sini

Dearest Chotu Sini,
You do not know this yet but you will find your community someday. You will know that you are not just a lonely Island, floating on the sea. You are a plant, growing in an ancient forest which has elderly spirit guides, joyful fairies and little seeds that look up to you with wonder in their eyes.
You will find vocabulary of words that give you a sense of belongingness, you will also know that there are sometimes feelings which cannot be described and that’s okay too. You will find solace in the fact that upholding the truth of being queer will act like a prism, reflecting the colours of all your other truths which were waiting to be witnessed.
The journey will be slow but it will be worth it. You will break the barriers of patriarchy, hold hands(even if virtually) with your comrades who envision the same future as you and you will contribute your khaaricha vaata(squirrel’s share) in making this world a safe and courageous space.
